Learning the Bible Online for Kids

There are a number of great websites devoted to children and learning the bible. Obviously, these websites are Christian oriented, but they are not heavy-handed and/or denominational in spirit. The purpose of this entry is to explore the best of these websites and to offer suggestions to parents looking for a unique way to inspire a spiritual base for their children.

This interactive approach readily lends itself to family style learning.

Hopefully, parents will find these websites helpful and easily geared to whatever age of your child.

History of Lawyers

Some lawyers are people too. The only good attorney is a dead attorney. What is the difference between the devil and an attorney? The devil has a heart! These are some of the old adages many people use to describe lawyers. For centuries, law men, referred to as lawyers, have been the object of scorn and ridicule to the masses. By definition, lawyers must take sides and thus they tend to create a following of enemies. The relationship between lawyers and mankind goes back to the age of the dawn of man.

Pythagoras was a famous Greek lawyer who is revered for his Pythagorean Theorem. Julius Ceasar was a famous Roman lawyer and politician. Today, there are more than 750,000 lawyers in this country alone! There may be some small towns with only one doctor, but you would be hard-pressed to find any small town with only one lawyer. However, today, with the help of internet law libraries and sites devoted to budding amateur lawyers, everyone has their hand in this cookie jar!

If you are looking for a cool website with a plethora of information both useless and helpful, check out http://www.lectlaw.com/ref.html. This site contains plenty of reference materials for the novice or professional attorney. A number of chat rooms are established ranging from the Rubber Room to the Lay People’s Lounge to the Business Review Lounge. This site panders to both the serious researcher of law and law related topics to the less serious attorney just looking to take a break from the standard tedium of law research.

Many legal topics are available through folders devoted to Alternative Dispute Resolution, Antitrust & Unfair Trade, Bankruptcy, Constitutional Rights, Criminal Law, Family Law, Immigration Law, International Law, Medical Malpractice and of course Tax Law. Specific Library Tours are also available.

For a great website with a bent on the law, check out this site!

Lawyer in Milwaukee

If you are looking for a lawyer in Milwaukee Wisconsin, Green & Kapsos is a law firm that has over 20 years worth of experience. They are one of the leading law firms in Milwaukee. Started in 1990 by William Green and Christine Kapsos, they focus on the areas of law that help provide people with a fresh start. They specialize in bankruptcy and divorce.

What I liked about the website about this law firm is that they have profiles for each one of their attorneys so that you can kind of get a sense of who they are. They also have videos on their website which kind of allows you to get an even greater sense of who they are. I think you have to like your lawyers to a certain extent when you work with them. You need to have that feeling that they care about your situation and will fight for the best outcome for you personally. There are lawyers that just see their clients as a paycheck. I didn’t get that feeling when I reviewed this website. Based on the effort they put into their website to get their visitors to learn about them, I think they probably do care. So if you are looking for a bankruptcy lawyer in Milwaukee WI, you might want to check out the law offices of Green & Kapsos.

Abraham Lincoln Legal Papers

I am sure most of you knew that Abraham Lincoln was the 16th President of the United States of America, but did you know he was a successful lawyer? I didn’t know that, but I am not much of a researcher on history. When I was looking through my daily allotment of websites to review, I came across the Abraham Lincoln Legal Papers website. This website talks about his history as a lawyer before becoming President.

While reading I learned that he was a lawyer for nearly 25 years prior to becoming President. He also handled many legal cases during that time and some of them were even heard in the Illinois Supreme Court. The Lincoln Legal Papers website also discusses not only his paraphrased history as a lawyer, but also has in-depth looks at some of the legal cases he tried as a lawyer. There is also one article that discusses how Abraham Lincoln almost found himself in a duel and went as far as writing the rules for the duel. I thought that was pretty cool when I read it. The duel never actually happened though. The situation kind of fizzled out, but it was very interesting regardless. I think this website would be a great read for any lawyer, future lawyer, or history buff.
